- We can show relevant advertisements via external platforms.
You can find more information about how we handle personal data in our privacy statement.

Disabling or deleting cookies
Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can also set your browser to refuse cookies entirely or partially. Please bear in mind, though, that some functions of the website do not work properly without cookies.
Which cookies exactly?
If you switch off Statistics and Advertising under βChangeβ, we do not place a single measurement cookie and we remove the Google Analytics cookies.
This list has not been copied from an example: we measured for ourselves what the site places. We place the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_) by default, even before you make a choice: we use them to count how many people use the site and which pages work. Google Analytics is set up so that your IP address is not stored and no data is shared with Google for its own purposes. All other cookies below (Hotjar and the marketing cookies) only appear if you say yes to them.
Statistics
This lets us see how many people use the site, which pages work and where visitors get stuck. We use this to improve the course and the site.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors from one another, so that we know how many people use the site and which pages work. | 400 days |
| _ga_YFPJJ10JT6 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the state of your visit within the same measurement. | 400 days |
| _cs_id | Contentsquare | Recognises your device, so that we can see in Hotjar where visitors get stuck on a page. | 384 days |
| _cs_c | Contentsquare | Records whether you have given consent for this measurement. | 395 days |
| _cs_s | Contentsquare | Counts how many pages you view during this visit. | Lasts as long as your visit |
Marketing
This lets us measure which advertisements bring in new students. Without this measurement, we do not know which advertisement works and we pay for advertisements that achieve nothing.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Links a click on our advertisement to a later purchase, so that we know which advertisements work. | 90 days |
| IDE | Google (DoubleClick) | Measures whether you have seen our advertisement and helps prevent you from being shown the same advertisement too often. | 390 days |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Measures whether our advertisement on Facebook or Instagram led to a visit or purchase. | 90 days |
What we store ourselves
Apart from cookies, we store one thing on your own device.
| Name | Where | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| hlt-toestemming | Local storage in your browser | Remembers your choice in this banner, so that you are not asked again on every visit. Stays on your own device. | until you delete it |
What do we record about you?
When you make a choice, we store that on our side: which choice, when, and which text you were shown. Nothing more. No IP address, no browser data, no email address. This is necessary because we must be able to demonstrate that consent was given, and it is also the limit: proving consent is no reason to keep more than the consent itself.
To be able to link that choice to you without knowing who you are, your browser creates a random key. It is shown below. If you want to know what we have recorded, or want to have it erased, mention this key in an email to wegenwacht@haaltheorie.nl.
